How Augmented and Virtual Reality Affect Security

Monday, 24 September| 3:45 PM - 5:00 PM | N115

Immersive technology is not merely the next small advancement in the security industry. Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) redefines how consultants and clients design security systems and how guards and law enforcement train and implement them. Advanced 3D modeling or scanning of an existing asset can provide scenarios to determine threats and vulnerabilities up front. VR allows responders to practice reacting to these situations anywhere, anytime. AR equips security staff with information displays and allows them to see 3D CCTV surveillance of people behind doors and walls. This presentation will demonstrate all of these uses.
