Protecting Against Building Automation Vulnerabilities

Wednesday, 26 September| 3:45 PM - 4:45 PM | N117

Building automation and control systems (BACS) have become embedded all types and sizes of today’s buildings to facilitate the flow of information. However, few organizations and practitioners are aware of or understanding BACS threats, vulnerabilities, and potential disruptions to business. An ASIS Foundation-funded BACS research project investigated BACS vulnerabilities, and surveyed security and facility professionals on  applicable security practices. The results revealed a limited understanding of BACS risks and the suitability of mitigation strategies. Review the resulting ASIS Foundation BACS Guideline that informs professionals on how to address the many threats to BACS and risks to organizations.
