Michael Coole, PhD, MSc, BSc is the Security Science Course Coordinator at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. Michael commenced his career in the Australian Royal Navy Clearance Diving fraternity, charged with planning and supervising military diving and explosive ordnance operations. Michael has a broad security experience within Defence, Critical Infrastructure, and Corrections and Justice. Within the correctional and justice environment in the State of Western Australia, Michael provided operational support and advice relating to physical and personnel security and emergency management matters. Currently, Michael lectures in the areas of security and criminological theory and practice, supervises student research projects and participates in research projects. Michael has published widely, with book chapters, academic journals, conference and industry articles.
